This Book Could Give Back Your Health

This was the third of Doug Kaufmann's books I've read and it really gave me some important insights on health problems I have had for years. I grew up on large doses of antibiotics for continual strep infections, and consequently also lots of major food allergies such as eggs, dairy, and gluten. I've also lived in various houses and apartments that had been flooded and had mold problems. After reading Doug's books, I had my doctor prescribe Diflucan and Nystatin and am on his Phase I diet for a month. I also have been taking a lot of natural antifungals all winter during this nasty flu season, and even though surrounded both a home and work by those sick with colds and nasty flu, I caught nothing, which for me is totally amazing. Doug's books and show, Know the Cause, are slowly giving me back my health, and I really think they'd do the same for anyone who read them and gave the program a real try.

This is a great diet!

My naturopathic doctor got my turned onto this diet years ago before I ever bought the book. I just bought the book to have on hand in case I ever need to reference it or pass it on to my kids. I got on this diet when I was 23 years old. Before I got of this diet I was pudgy, my eyes were always red, and I had terrible acne that covered my whole face. My life was consumed with using proactive, even coming home on lunch break from work to wash my face, and extensive makeup application even though I really grew to Hate makeup. I had tried a couple other diets and every pill, antibiotic, face scrub, and cream I could ever find (except Accutane) and nothing had helped me. Now, at 28 years old, I am completely acne-free and I attribute a large part of that to a lifestyle that revolves around this diet. Thanks to Doug Kauffman, he has made my life so much better.

Life Changing

Doctors study lots about bacteria and viruses, but unfortunately, they study very little about fungus. Kaufman's research shows that fungus is at the root of many health problems. The dysbiosis in our intestines caused by antibiotics, medications, chemicals and poor nutrition leads to fungal overgrowth. I found great help in following his Phase One diet as well as other suggestions presented in the book and on his TV show, Know the Cause. I highly recommend it.

This book has a lot of relevant information containing the stability of bonds versus the instability of the stock market, and it is the kind of advice that my father and his father gave me growing up. It was very interesting to see the information echoed in the words of Mr. Hogue.

What I like about this book is that the information is presented in a way that the average person can come away from it understanding how different stocks work. You do not have to be an economist in order to get something out of Mr Hogue's book. In fact this book wasn't written for that audience, but for the everyday individual.

If you are serious about planning for your future, you should really read this book. It has invaluable information on the fundamentals of bond investing that will help you with the planning of your future. Five Stars.

Another step towards investing.

After getting Joseph Hogue's other investment guide books, I simply cannot pass up on this one because it is always good to be open and knowledgeable when it comes to the different types of investment. I plan on putting some of my retirement money in a good place where I would feel confident of it being safe and growing. Bond investing is a whole new step in investing where you loan your money to the issuer whether it is a big company or business. Basically, one can invest in a company like Lending club, where the investors loan money to a borrower and in return, gets a good rate back. I like how this book explains each topic in a manner that beginners would understand and I find it a very interesting thing to learn.

Don't neglect bond investing and don't neglect this book

Too many investors avoid bond investing because they aren’t as hyped as stocks or other investments. The author does a good job of pointing out the advantages of bonds against these other investments and why you should build a bond investing strategy for your portfolio.

The book flows really well. It may not seem like much but I’ve read other bond investing books that jump around and you never really get an understanding of the why, what and how of bonds. After the why, the author covers the basics of bond prices and types of bonds in which you can invest. Finally, the book covers how to invest in bonds through funds and individual fixed-income securities and a strategy to maintain your investments.

About the Author
R. M. Willis‘ mother first introduced him to the speculative fiction world when he was still a small child. His understanding of the world around him grew through the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, Piers Anthony, and Robert Silverberg. At a very young age he knew he wanted to write. His first story was published by his second grade teacher, when he was 7; A rousing tale about how the Easter Bunny stole his carrot. His first book “Power Rises” was republished by KnightLand Books in 2015. He currently resides in Colorado with his wife and two children, where he is working on the second book in his "Ways of Power" series.

Decent Start to the Series

Good story. You're immersed into the world immediately without having to plow through dull initial characterization. Even zombie stories seem to drone on and on without a shambling corpse for a third of a novel these days, so kudos to the author for dragging us in from the start.

Though the characters seemed to meander and some scenes could have been cut altogether, the plot was smooth. Formulaic, but smooth.
Characters were colorful. Their interactions were mechanical at times, however, and they often made me question their reactions to certain situations. And Rancoth's memory lapses heightened suspense but didn't seem to be a true character trait.

Some passages hinted at a hypnotizing literary style; unfortunately, they weren't prevalent throughout the work. Tons of errors jolted me out of the story: Missing apostrophes and commas, misplaced commas, incorrect spellings (homophones), run-on sentences, incorrect usage of sentence fragments (particularly with sentence tag/action combinations). This was an electronic copy, so it's hard to tell if the culprit was poor editing or formatting.

Despite all this, the demons and the magic and the plot pulled me along, and there was an interesting new direction in the epilogue. I plan to read the remainder of the series.

Okay read, blurb seems to be more about future then current story

The writing style is good, the alternate futurestic version of Earth has potential as does the magic and races. The book is about setting the stage. I would have given it four stars if it were not for two things I tend to dislike: prophecies and characters making odd mistakes (a character so opposed to killing and so careful about his talent, would NOT make the same mistake twice when it comes to said talent).

Great adventures, exotic locales. Rancoth is particularly compelling in that no matter his best intentions, he is young and inexperienced. Something is bound to backfire. Good thing he has a stalwart companion who can keep this young Hero in Training on the right path.
